"We now accept the fact that learning is a lifelong process of keeping abreast of change. And the most pressing task is to teach people how to learn.” Peter Drucker
“Learning is not a one-time event or a periodic luxury. Great leaders in great companies recognize that the ability to constantly learn, innovate, and improve is vital to their success.” Amy Edmondson
“Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.” John F. Kennedy
Effective Leadership is at the heart of a school's development journey. We believe that it is hugely important that leaders within our schools have the opportunity to access high quality, research informed support to ensure that curriculum and teaching remains of the highest standard and that leaders at all levels have opportunities to develop, share and innovate together.
SAfE is committed to working with school leaders in their continued development as learners. Our professional learning networks (PLN) offer senior leaders the opportunity to think, reflect, share and network with their peers. Evidence-based practice and pedagogy underpins the inputs of each session, and agenda items are responsive to include current issues as well as leadership learning.
They are facilitated by expert practitioners who have a deep understanding of school leadership and sessions are based on in-depth research and identified best practice. All our networks complement and support the range of National professional Qualifications that are delivered by Surrey Teaching Schools Network.
Network meetings are held half termly. For more information, look at the schedule below:
