Maria is passionate about education and how the collective power of partnership working in education can be the catalyst to deliver educational excellence and great outcomes for all children and young people.
Her career in education started as a maths teacher in East Sussex and she has held a wide range of senior educational leadership positions in schools, university and other organisations including as one of Her Majesty’s Inspectors for Schools and as Deputy Regional Schools Commissioner in the South-East. She is also a trustee in a local Multi-academy Trust.
Michele’s career in education includes senior leadership, consultancy, teacher training, school improvement support and national training programmes.
Jonathan is an experienced school improvement partner and education adviser, currently working as the Head of School Improvement for the Guildford Diocese.
Previously, he was the Senior Teaching and Learning Consultant for Babcock 4S following seven years as a headteacher in East Surrey. Jonathan sees his role as building effective dialogue with schools to provide appropriate challenge with good support to enable schools to realise ambitious goals for their pupils.
Jonathan uses his previous teaching and leadership experience to develop the craft of effective school improvement advice – alongside specific expertise in the teaching of reading and writing.
Ellen has held senior roles both in schools and in LAs both as a Head of Inclusion and Head of Standards and Achievement..
Nicola has a background in business and project management having worked for the Local Education Authority.
I’ve been immersed in the world of education throughout my working life. I have extensive school governing experience across all phases and settings and am a National Leader of Governance and Special Adviser on governance to the Department of Education.
Ruth has been appointed by TSC as the National Leader of Governance (NLG) Regional Lead to oversee and lead the SESL team of NLGs across the SESL region in 2020.
As Executive Development Officer for STSN and SAfE I am very pleased to be working in support of the development of Surrey’s school-led school improvement services, and am very excited to be a part of the team.
For the past 10 years I have worked closely with Surrey secondary schools through my role with Phase Council and more recently with colleagues at STSN.
My role at SAfE is to develop our network and services, strengthen our communication with all schools and partners, as we grow and build from the firm foundations of partnership working and collaboration within Surrey’s school community.
Gemma has a background in project and data management having worked for a Brooklands College.
