Each Surrey school and academy is eligible to become a Member of Schools Alliance for Excellence. (Please note that there is no cost to join SAfE and that there is no requirement for the £10 to be paid on joining.)
Each maintained school and stand-alone academy can apply to join as a Member, nominating an authorised representative to attend on their behalf.
The application form (A) is detailed below and requires signed approval on behalf of the governing body or single academy trust.
Each multi academy trust can apply for membership in respect of each of their academies as it is the trust Board that is the legal governing entity. Each academy must nominate an authorised representative to attend and vote at member meetings on its behalf, exercising the interests of that academy.
The multi academy trust application form is also detailed below (B). In accordance with Article 14 of the Articles, an authorised representative will be the head teacher, chair of governors, bursar, business manager or other senior employee of the relevant academy and it will be the multi academy trust’s responsibility to ensure the authorised representative has consented to be an authorised representative and that due process has been followed within their trust to ensure representation.
