We strongly believe that leadership matters at all levels within every school every day.

STSN is working with SFET and Xavier Teaching School Hubs and Teach First to provide the full suite of reformed NPQs.

This formal partnership began in September 2021 and brings together the best local knowledge and context with the national experience and programmes of Teach First.

STSN and SAfE continue to build on STSN’s significant experience delivering NPQs over many years.

The DfE has announced that full scholarship funding, with no cost to the participant, is available to teachers and leaders working in state funded schools in England.

About Us

Through partnership working, STSN, Xavier Teaching School Hub and SFET Teaching School Hub  support the professional development needs of schools, including the provision of Early Careers Framework and National Professional Qualifications across the area.

Teach First is a national charity offering innovative ITT courses, NPQ and other school improvement courses. Teach First has 18 years’ experience of designing and delivering high-quality training to schools that need it most. TF has worked with 19,000 Teachers across its programmes, including ITT (rated Outstanding by Ofsted in 41/48 areas) and the current suite of NPQs. We are delighted to be working with Teach First in the delivery of the full suite of NPQs across our region.

National Professional Qualifications (NPQs)

All NPQs are designed to:

•    Broaden and deepen expertise in a range of specialist areas and leadership roles

•    Apply high quality, evidence informed research through its programme of training.

•    Provide flexibility to build on prior knowledge and to sit alongside your own schedule

•    Be an integral part of the golden thread from initial teacher training through to executive leadership across multiple schools.

There are two main types of National Professional Qualifications: Specialist NPQs and Leadership NPQs.

All NPQs are taught through a blended balance of online individual learning, online seminars and face-to-face meetings and a simplified end-of-course assessment. There are two cohorts annually, starting in Autumn and Spring.

STSN and our partner organisations welcome applicants from all schools in Surrey, north-east and east Hampshire and from local authority areas beyond the south east region.

All courses are fully funded by the DfE for the cohorts starting Autumn 2022 and Spring 2023.

Please follow the links below to find out more about the programmes on offer. We look forward to receiving your expression of interest to join one of the programmes.
