Further guidance from Surrey CC for EYFS

Reintegration and Supporting Childrens return to their setting

Surrey County Council has produced information leaflets for parents to support the return of children to settings and reintegration as past of the Government's phased return plans. You can download these leaflets using the links below.

Risk Assessment Templates

You can download a ‘protective measures’ risk assessment template here for early years settings that has been prepared in response to the Government’s phased return plans.

This tool may be useful as you undertake recovery planning around a range of ‘protective measures’ for the Summer Term and is entirely optional. Some sections will be more or less applicable, depending on your context, and please feel free to change and adapt as necessary.

It should be used alongside the government guidance below:

The Government has indicated its intention to produce a toolkit which will supersede this advice.

We have also provided an example risk assessment and a blank risk assessment for your use which you can download using the links below.

EY Passport

This EY Passport was created following a survey sent to schools and EY providers regarding transition. The responses were collated and analysed. As a result the top themes were identified. It was clear that both EY providers and schools wanted the same thing, a clear simple and easy to use document which would collate the relevant information all in one place.

A working group came together to create the EY Passport. This included reception teachers, PVI practitioners, Family Voice, STIPS,EY SEND Advisors, SCC Commissioning team and Babcock.

Further Resources

Below you will find a presentation which is designed to reflect the unique challenge schools face in delivering a remote learning offer for younger children.

It aims to provide both some advice and support for parents and to promote more social, skills and language-based activities.

Schools may choose to modify and/or use some or all of the suggestions both in designing activities or communicating with parents.
