Boost Healthy Eating in Your School – Apply for the £500 Grant to Support a Surrey Healthy Schools Approach
Looking for ways to make healthy eating a core part of your school culture? Surrey schools can now apply for a Healthy Eating Grant of up to £500 to fund creative projects that promote wellbeing and tackle health inequalities.
This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your ideas to life and strengthen your approach to Theme 3 of the Surrey Healthy Schools framework. All funds must be spent by April 2026, and applications close February 2026.
What could you do with £500?
- Create a “Snack Smart” Zone – Provide healthy snack options and run pupil-led campaigns to encourage better choices.
- Grow Your Own – Start a school garden or herb patch, linking to science and sustainability lessons.
- Cooking for Life Workshops – Host sessions for pupils and families to learn simple, nutritious recipes together.
- Healthy Lunchbox Challenge – Launch a fun competition to inspire balanced lunchboxes and share ideas across the school community.
Why apply?
- Supports your school’s wellbeing strategy.
- Engages pupils and families in positive lifestyle changes.
- Contributes to reducing health inequalities in Surrey.
To apply, submit a short proposal (around 500 words) outlining your project and expected impact. After implementation, schools will share outcomes in Spring 2026, helping us build a county-wide picture of success.
