Free Neurodiversity Training Package Launches for Schools and Colleges
A new Department for Education-funded Neurodiversity Training Package will be launched on 23rd September 2026, providing every school and college with access to high-quality, free training resources designed to strengthen inclusive and neuro-affirming practice.
Developed and delivered by Whole School SEND and nasen, the package adopts a train-the-trainer model, enabling school leaders, SENCOs and teachers to deliver training within their own settings without the need for external facilitators.
The comprehensive package includes:
- Ready-made leadership and teacher presentation materials
- Activities, case studies and presenter guidance
- Bitesize modules covering:
- Executive function
- Intersectionality
- Adaptive teaching
- Independence
- Guidance on delivering sessions effectively
- Support for quality-assuring inclusive, neuro-affirming practice
Separate leadership and teacher resources are available for primary, secondary and further education settings, ensuring the training is tailored to each phase.
To support the launch, a series of free introductory webinars will take place from 3:45pm to 4:45pm on:
- Tuesday 22nd September 2026
- Wednesday 16th December 2026
- Wednesday 10th February 2027
All schools and colleges are welcome to attend any of the sessions, and recordings will be made available for those unable to join live.
This new resource represents an excellent opportunity for Surrey schools to build staff confidence and understanding around neurodiversity while embedding inclusive approaches across their setting.
