From Trauma‑Informed to Trauma‑Invested: Ravenscote’s RISE Up Journey

Ravenscote Junior School’s journey with the RISE Up programme shows what happens when a school moves from being trauma‑informed to truly trauma‑invested. In partnership with Active Surrey and Future Action, the school embedded movement‑based regulation, a shared wellbeing language, and a whole‑school culture of belonging. The result was a transformational shift in pupil wellbeing, staff practice and school climate, with wellbeing scores rising from 46% to 90% and children gaining the tools to understand and manage their own emotional states. This case study highlights how intentional investment, consistent practice and a focus on connection can create lasting change for pupils who need it most.
