SAfE Governance Services

SAfE provides statutory Governor Services for maintained schools on behalf of Surrey County Council in addition to a purchasable Governance SLA which is offered to all Surrey schools and academies. The Governance Team is available to assist all schools and Trusts; to provide expert governance support, advice, guidance and consultancy support to all.

Statutory School Governance Services

SAfE assumed responsibility for the LA’s statutory governance functions in September 2021 and is commissioned by Surrey County Council.

SAfE’s Professional Clerking Service launched in September 2025.

The NGA is the premier governance organisation in the country and offers a variety of membership packages which will support your governing bodies. SAfE can offer discounted membership options include Standard and GOLD membership together with a Learning Link package for your governor training needs.

GovernorHub is a fantastic resource for all schools and their Governing bodies. This platform allows governors to communicate and support each other. As a local provider, SAfE can offer discounted membership options.
