In SAfE Hands Talks Rethinking Inclusion: A Core Mission
Kenny Wheeler, School Improvement Advisor and author of The Strategic SENCo, shares the importance of the Rethinking Inclusion Principles:
Our core business at SAfE is school improvement, which encompasses direct work with schools, professional learning, leadership development, and fostering vital networks. Supporting an inclusive school system is fundamental to everything we do, and SAfE manages a number of different targeted projects to help achieve this goal.
Underpinning all of our work is system leadership: we act as an engine of improvement locally, brokering connections and initiatives across schools, and stimulating innovation. Our aim is to bridge the divide between different types of schools and be the ‘glue’ that holds the system together.
We actively encourage schools to re-think, re-evaluate, and re-imagine their approaches to inclusion. We want to challenge and provoke thinking around whole-school practices and methods. What has gone on before needs to develop, evolve, and become more impactful so that, in a world with limited resources, we can make a real difference with what we do have.
See the Rethinking Inclusion Principles below, which act as a powerful driver for influencing and effecting change in your setting.
