Subscription and Membership

SAfE is passionate about supporting all schools and Trusts in Surrey and wider area. We serve all phases from nursery to post-16 schools and are recognised nationally for the quality of our school improvement, governance and educational excellence services.

We work in collaboration with headteachers, trust CEOs, specialist experts and a range of partners to ensure we always offer you the highest quality, research-informed solutions for your school development.

Our extensive Professional Learning and networking opportunities for CEOs, headteachers and their teams are outlined in the 2024/25 guide below. Please also refer to our Consultancy brochure for information about the additional, targeted insight and guidance we offer to headteachers and CEOs to support you in your aims and priorities.

Subscribing to SAfE

Subscription is an annual financial commitment which, in turn, entitles subscribing schools to free access to certain events and discounted rates against other non-statutory events and SAfE programmes.

All Surrey schools and academies are warmly invited to benefit from SAfE’s services and we are delighted that over 300 schools have opted to subscribe to SAfE since its inception.

In 2024/25 a Surrey subscribing school will benefit from:

  • Free subject networks
  • 20% discount on all Professional Learning, Traded School Improvement, Curriculum and Governance Consultancy
  • Access to subsidies on SAfE Priority projects
  • A range of discounts including The Key, Governor Hub and NGA

If you are an independent school within Surrey, or a publicly funded or independent school located beyond Surrey, SAfE would be delighted to work with you as an Associate Subscriber. Your school would benefit from the core subscription offer outlined above, with the exception of the priority projects.

The following banding arrangement applies from September 2023 and will apply for the September 2023/ August 2024 period

Existing Subscriber?

If you are an existing subscriber, you do not need to do anything to continue your school’s subscription for the year 2024/2025. Your subscription invoice will be emailed to you in early October 2024. The per pupil calculation has been based on the January 2024 NOR data excluding nursery pupils.provided by SCC.

If however you have decided to unsubscribe from SAfE with effect from September 2024, please contact us at admin@schoolsallexcel.com. Any bookings already made for events for September onwards will then be adjusted to the non-subscriber price.

If you would like to subscribe to SAfE from September 2024, please confirm via admin@schoolsallexcel.com.

Your subscription invoice will be emailed to you in early October, and any bookings already made for events from September onwards will be adjusted to the reduced subscriber price.

Membership of SAfE

  • Each Surrey school and academy is eligible to become a Member of Schools Alliance for Excellence. (Please note that there is no cost to join SAfE and that there is no requirement for the £10 to be paid on joining.)
  • Each maintained school and stand-alone academy can apply to join as a Member, nominating an authorised representative to attend on their behalf.
  • Each multi academy Trust can apply for membership in respect of each of their academies as it is the Trust Board that is the legal governing entity. Each academy must nominate an authorised representative to attend and vote at member meetings on its behalf, exercising the interests of that academy.
  • In accordance with Article 14 of the Articles, an authorised representative will be the head teacher, chair of governors, bursar, business manager or other senior employee of the relevant academy and it will be the multi academy trust’s responsibility to ensure the authorised representative has consented to be an authorised representative and that due process has been followed within their trust to ensure representation.
