No Learner Left Behind: Surrey Education Partnership Champions Lifelong Learning

The Surrey Education Partnership is a bold and collaborative initiative working to ensure that every learner in Surrey – regardless of background, need, or circumstance – has access to high-quality, inclusive education. Rooted in the belief that education is a lifelong journey, the partnership brings together schools, colleges, early years providers, adult learning services, higher education institutions, and key partners such as Surrey County Council and SAfE to drive equity and excellence across the county.

At the heart of Surrey Education Partnership’s work is the Lifetime of Learning Strategy, a county-wide vision that spans four interconnected phases of learning:

This strategy recognises that transitions between life stages can be emotionally, socially, and economically challenging. Surrey Education Partnership’s mission is to smooth these transitions and ensure that no learner is left behind.

To advance this mission, the Surrey Education Partnership Conference 2026 is being held on Thursday, 15 January 2026, at the University of Surrey. Themed “No Learner Left Behind: Advancing Surrey’s Lifetime of Learning Strategy”, the conference will spotlight innovative practices in inclusive education and provide a platform for educators, policymakers, and skills providers to collaborate.

Keynote speakers include:

  • Baroness Estelle Morris, former Secretary of State for Education and co-chair of the Independent Inquiry into White Working-Class Educational Outcomes.
  • Professor Sonia Blandford, founder of Achievement for All and a leading voice on social mobility.

The day will feature panel discussions and case studies focused on Surrey Education Partnership’s priority areas:

  • Communication, language, and literacy
  • Attendance and engagement
  • Emotional wellbeing
  • Recruitment, retention, and professional development

This fully funded event is open to all education professionals and stakeholders committed to shaping a fairer, more inclusive education system in Surrey.
