Our virtual briefings offer clerks an invaluable opportunity to stay informed about critical local and national developments relevant to their roles and the boards they support. Each termly session also includes a dedicated element of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to enhance your knowledge, skills, and confidence.

The CPD focus for our summer term briefing will focus on developing a robust process for the effective monitoring and review of school policies.

Participants will be able to:

• gain a clear understanding of compliance responsibilities outlined in the Maintained Schools Governance Guide, including which policies must be reviewed and approved by governors
• be equipped to guide governors on the appropriate level of input and the key questions they should consider during policy review and approval
• establish an efficient process for policy monitoring and review across the academic year.
