EYFS Moderation Summer 25

This moderation event will support reception class teachers to moderate their assessments of children against the early learning goals with colleagues from schools across Surrey.

The EYFS Handbook states moderation of EYFS profile assessments should be a collaborative process. This is an opportunity for teachers or EYFS leaders to draw on their knowledge of the child and their own expert professional judgement and discuss with other colleagues to moderate their judgements against the Early Learning Goals.
Delegates will bring with them key information as well as their knowledge of two pupils to facilitate discussions with colleagues and agree assessment judgements.
This session is led by our EYFS specialist and school improvement advisor.
Please choose your preferred session time.
The beliefs, knowledge and or teaching practices this programme aims to address:
  • This will enable colleagues and senior leaders to be confident in the judgements for the Early learning goals.

Intended Impact on Practice:

  • This will allow practitioners to be confident in their judgements and will also provide an opportunity to discuss next steps for individual children.

Intended improvement and/or evaluation of impact for pupils, including those with SEND and/or disadvantaged backgrounds:

  • The attainment of the disadvantaged/SEND children will be discussed and next steps identified.
