Session 2 – Modelling and Metacognition in writing – modelling and scaffolding the teaching of writing

This session supports English leaders and teachers to develop their expertise in modelling writing and demonstrating the metacognitive processes of effective writers.

This session is part of a programme to support Primary English leaders and teachers to improve their practice in the teaching of English with a focus on teaching and learning, meta-cognition and supporting under-served pupils. The sessions are based on current research and model effective strategies allowing teachers to embed ideas through a cycle of deliberate practice.  As an accredited CPD Partner for Chartered Status, it can support teachers wanting to complete the Chartered Status, Development of Teaching Practice Award.
