KS2 Moderation Briefing Summer 24

** By invitation only **

Schools who are being moderated will have the opportunity to learn about the process of moderation in KS2. They will be able to ask the Moderation Manager any questions and understand how the moderation will run and be able to support teachers with this.

The beliefs, knowledge, understanding and/or teaching practices this programme aims to address:

  • Accurate assessment and use of data.
  • Teachers will be prepared to have their judgements validated and participate in a professional discussion with a moderator about the evidence they have gathered.
  • Schools will be supported to understand any additional evidence that may be needed, how to show a particular weakness and feel confident to discuss all pupils chosen for moderation.

Intended Impact on practice:

  • Headteachers and teachers will feel confident that they understand the process of moderation and how the moderator will work with the teachers in Year 6.
  • Teacher Assessment Frameworks are used to ensure that judgements are in-line with national outcomes.
  • Headteachers and teachers will be able to ask any questions about the process of moderation.

Intended improvement and/or evaluation of impact for pupils, including those with SEND and/or disadvantaged backgrounds**:
