Overseas Trained Teachers Network 25-26

Teaching is a highly rewarding and often challenging profession. At SAfE, we recognise that if you were trained overseas, arriving to teach in Surrey can bring another layer of complexities to navigate. In partnership with the Secondary Phase Council, SAfE have developed a programme of induction and support for our Overseas Trained Teacher colleagues (OTTs)

The network meets termly and online over Zoom so that you can build a network of peers in Surrey schools that really understand your experiences as they are going through them too. You will be able to share experiences, offer mutual support, and engage in professional learning.
Additionally, you will have access to a comprehensive range of online resources to support your transition to teaching in the UK.
The programme also includes useful resources for your school mentor and leadership team to assist with ‘in school’ induction.

The package is available to all Surrey Secondary Schools and comprises of:

• Comprehensive support and guidance for newly appointed OTTs.
• Guidance for school leaders to welcome and induct OTTs.
• Online networking and professional learning opportunities for OTTs during their first year.
• Access to our dropbox where you will find a comprehensive collection of document
• £200 per teacher
