Primary Deputy Headteacher Network 22-23

Our professional learning networks (PLN) offer senior leaders the opportunity to think, reflect, share and network with their peers. Evidence-based practice and pedagogy underpins the inputs of each session, and agenda items are responsive to include current issues as well as leadership learning.

Previous topics for Primary Deputy Headteachers have included:

  • Leading teacher development
  • Improving attendance
  • Mental health and wellbeing

Local and national updates are also shared each meeting. We welcome Deputy Heads to share their expertise during sessions. If you would like to present in one of the sessions, please contact us.

The summer term network will be a face-to-face conference at St John the Baptist School (Woking) to focus on several topics in greater depth and allow for networking.

The beliefs, knowledge, understanding and/or teaching practices this programme aims to address:

  • Work successfully with other schools and organisations in a climate of mutual challenge and support

Intended Impact on practice:

  • Develop appropriate evidence-informed strategies for improvement
  • Develop the leadership skills of primary Deputy Heads to ensure that they are effective in their role.

Intended improvement and/or evaluation of impact for pupils, including those with SEND and/or disadvantaged backgrounds:

  • SAfE endeavours to support an accessible education for all; this theme is a golden thread through our training and networks.
