School Finance for Primary Senior Leaders Workshop Summer 24

This bespoke session will focus on developing a clear understanding of school finance. Philippa Ollerhead, facilitator, will work with school leaders to develop strategic leadership skills with particular emphasis on resources, working through practical examples of real school situations and budgets.  

By the end of this session, school leaders will be able to interpret financial information with a critical eye, based on reports provided in school to support making strategic decisions. 

Philippa is a training partner for the NAHT, delivering courses for Head teachers across the country, in subjects such as Removing the Stress from Ofsted Inspections, Safeguarding, Financial Transparency for Maintained Schools, Growing MAT structures, Delegated Leadership and Leading School Investigations. Philippa has been an education improvement adviser for nine years and works with schools in all sectors around the country supporting school leaders. 

This will support all senior leaders and will particularly benefit those leaders looking to move into headship and preparing for headteacher interviews. 

The beliefs, knowledge, understanding and/or teaching practices this programme aims to address:  

  • Senior leaders will be able to learn how to accurately review the financial information provided to them as well as being aware of the Headteacher and Governors’ accountability in school and the importance of self-evaluation.

  • Support leadership skills in preparation for headship.
