Secondary Curriculum Network 26-27

This network offers high‑quality, subject‑specialist collaboration in a trusted, cross‑school community—creating a rare space where leaders can benchmark practice, share deep curriculum expertise and strengthen the quality of teaching across their departments.

Our Secondary Curriculum Network for 2026/27 brings together curriculum leaders, heads of department and subject specialists from across secondary schools to learn, reflect and collaborate. The network provides a professional space where subject experts can explore shared challenges, develop new ideas and strengthen the coherence of curriculum planning across all disciplines. By bringing colleagues together, the network encourages open dialogue and meaningful professional exchange.
Each session begins with focused input on an important, topical curriculum theme, offering leaders fresh insight into national thinking and emerging educational priorities. This shared grounding allows participants to link wider curriculum considerations to the realities of subject leadership, enabling them to reflect on what strong curriculum intent, implementation and impact look like in practice.
Participants receive a concise overview of national and local authority updates, helping them stay informed of any changes that may influence curriculum design or delivery.
Subject breakout rooms form a core part of each meeting, enabling discipline‑specific conversation around current issues, innovations and approaches unique to each subject area.

Joining these communities of good practice is included in your SAfE subscription, so is free to subscribing schools.

There is charge of £300 per school for non-subscribers which covers all sessions across the year for as many subject leaders in a school who wish to attend.

Sessions are termly, and the agenda is planned to reflect current issues and challenges, along with any items requested from the group.
