Secondary Pastoral Forum 23-24

Following the success of our SAfE Subject Curriculum leader’s forum, we are keen to mirror this with an offer that supports pastoral and behaviour leaders for KS 3 and KS4. We know that behaviour ‘feels different’ in post-pandemic schools, and that we cannot continue to use ‘old strategies to solve new behaviour challenges’.  As pupil absence levels increase, and stamina for learning can be unstable, how do we ensure that pastoral and behavioural support is precise, impactful and manageable in 2023/24?

This forum will provide opportunities for current, and evidence-based professional learning and development.  The forum is aimed at Key Stage leaders, Assistant and Deputy Heads with responsibility for behaviour in their schools.

The beliefs, knowledge, understanding and/or teaching practices this programme aims to address: 

• An opportunity to share good practice and network with other secondary pastoral leads 

Intended Impact on practice: 

• Building a community of good practice as a support for secondary pastoral leads in Surrey secondary schools
