Securing Greater Depth in Key Stage 2 Programme 26-27

This programme will support teachers in Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 to support potential greater depth pupils to achieve their potential. Teachers will gain strategies to support with planning, teaching and assessing.

Teachers will feel confident in modelling greater depth writing, providing effective feedback and increasing the quantity of greater depth writers.

Teachers will deepen their understanding of what is needed for a writer to achieve GDS at the end of KS2. Teachers will reflect on their own practice, develop teaching strategies and have the opportunity to participate in cross-school writing moderations. Using exemplars and specific frameworks, teachers will support more pupils to achieve GDS at the end of KS2.

Teacher assessment in Y3 – Y5 does not always support end of key stage judgements. This programme will support teachers to understand end points and develop more accurate assessment that leads to adapted teaching.

Develop accurate teacher assessment frameworks for all of KS2 and create a portfolio of work to use to support assessment in your school. This programme offers professional development and networking opportunities.

The first two sessions will be held virtually on Zoom, with the second two sessions held face-to-face at St John the Baptist School, Woking.
