Year 6 Cross-school Writing Moderation 28th January 2027

Teachers will have the opportunity to participate in a cross-school writing moderation as well as some moderation training. Teachers will benefit from working with other schools to continue developing their own practice and consider how to accurately assess pupils’ writing. Networking, discussions and reflections on previous experiences provide professional development for teachers.

Teachers will benefit from some of the moderator training before moderating work from schools using the Teacher Assessment Framework. This is an opportunity to practise the professional discussion, validate teacher judgements and apply the national standards to a variety of pieces of work.

Schools across Surrey will share best practice, develop their understanding of the Teacher Assessment Framework and apply the standards to work from their own school.
