In this Rethinking Inclusion video podcast Kenny Wheeler, Inclusion Lead for SAfE, chats to Headteacher, Cassie Puplett and SENCo, Natalie Hadleigh about their Inclusion journey at Lingfield Primary.

Lingfield Primary School, located in East Surrey, serves a community where approximately 40% of pupils experience varying degrees of vulnerability. In response, school leaders have prioritised the development of strong SEND and inclusive practices to ensure that all pupils can engage meaningfully with the curriculum and the wider life of the school.

As part of this journey, leaders worked with the local authority to secure additional funding to strengthen inclusive provision. This has enabled the school to develop an agile and responsive model that supports pupils with a wide range of needs, whether for short-term intervention or more sustained support. The approach focuses on enabling pupils to learn alongside their peers while maintaining high expectations for all.

In this Rethinking Inclusion video podcast Kenny Wheeler, Inclusion Lead for SAfE, explores the school’s inclusion journey. Headteacher Cassie Puplett and SENCo Natalie Hadleigh, reflect on establishing a clear vision for inclusion and developing sustainable, embedded approaches to SEND across the school. They share the practical steps taken to strengthen inclusive practice; the challenges encountered along the way and their ongoing commitment to ensuring that every pupil can succeed. We thank them both for their time and for sharing the developments that have taken place at their school.
