Wellbeing Charter for Surrey School Leaders

SAfE is proud to champion the Wellbeing Charter for Surrey School Leaders, a collaborative initiative that places staff wellbeing at the heart of school culture.

By signing up, schools commit to:

Promoting a positive and inclusive working environment.
Prioritising mental health and emotional wellbeing for all staff.
Embedding sustainable wellbeing practices into school policies and leadership.

We support schools in implementing the Charter through training, resources, and a community of practice that shares best approaches to wellbeing.

Phase Councils

Surrey’s Phase Councils bring together school leaders from across the county to collaborate, influence, and shape the future of education. Councils are organised by phase: Early Years, Primary, Secondary, and Post-16.

These Phase Councils provide:

A platform for strategic dialogue and shared decision-making.
Opportunities to contribute to SAfE’s policy and programme development.
Peer support and networking across the education system.

Phase Councils ensure that the voice of school leaders is central to our work and the wider educational landscape.

Headteacher Induction Programme

SAfE is committed to developing outstanding leaders who can transform schools and ultimately improve outcomes for children and young people. We are passionate about supporting collaborative partnerships.

Our New Headteacher Induction Programme is designed to support new and acting headteachers across all phases in Surrey schools during their first year in role – a time that is both rewarding and challenging. This comprehensive programme helps you grow into your leadership role with confidence, while building meaningful connections with fellow new and experienced headteachers. Through expert guidance and peer collaboration, you’ll develop your leadership skills and establish a strong professional network to support your journey.
