The Surrey Education Partnership

The Surrey Education Partnership is a collaborative initiative committed to achieving excellence and equity across our county’s diverse education landscape.

While Surrey performs above the national average, too many children and young people—particularly those who face disadvantage, are vulnerable, or have additional needs—still face barriers to success. Our vision is for every learner to access high-quality, inclusive education that supports lifelong learning, wellbeing, and a thriving local economy.

The partnership is made up of representatives from schools, colleges, early years, higher education, skills, adult learning settings along with Surrey County Council, Schools Alliance for Excellence, the Department for Education, members of the Surrey Health and Wellbeing Board, and the Dioceses. Working collaboratively, the partnership will share good practice, provide support and signpost to initiatives and resources, with the aim of ensuring that no learner in Surrey is left behind.

Principles of Surrey Education Partnership Board

Education is an investment in the future. We are committed to ensuring that everyone in education in Surrey benefits from the right education, skills and employment opportunities that help them succeed in life at the time that they need it. We will do this through our principles:

  • Commitment

  • Collaboration

  • Celebration

  • Championing

  • Communication

  • Challenge

Lifetime of Learning Strategy

The Surrey Education Partnership’s ambitions are built on four interconnected ‘lifetimes’ of learning. We want to take a single view of a learner from early years, through school to post 16 and beyond. Learning transition can impact on a learner emotionally, socially and economically, and we believe the more connected we are the more impactful our strategy will be.

The stages of learning are:

  • 0-5 years: Foundations for Life

  • 5-16 years: Thriving in learning

  • Post 16: Flourishing Young Adults

  • Beyond Post 16: For economic growth and personal wellbeing
