Wellbeing

SAfE’s Wellbeing offer consists of two strands:

  1. A programme to support schools as they implement an effective whole school culture that features wellbeing as a ‘golden thread’ for the children, young people and adults that make up the school community
  2. A coaching provision to support the wellbeing of school leaders

Programme to Support an Effective Whole School Culture

Wellbeing is a foundational element of an effective school culture, shaping pupils’ readiness to learn, their engagement, relationships and overall outcomes. It is also a key building block of pupils’ future educational success. In a rapidly changing educational landscape, strong well-being practice draws on emerging evidence, inclusive approaches and responsive curriculum development.

At SAfE, our professional learning supports schools to develop whole‑school wellbeing approaches that strengthen inclusion, support learning and enable all pupils to thrive.

Our offer reflects current priorities including:

  • Whole school approaches to wellbeing

  • Readiness to learn, attendance and engagement
  • Inclusive practice and support for priority groups
  • Curriculum development that promotes wellbeing

  • Staff wellbeing and creating supportive professional cultures

  • Pupil voice and co production of wellbeing approaches

Our programmes are evidence informed and research led to support school leaders in effective implementation of whole school strategies.

Wellbeing Networks

We recognise that professional learning is most powerful when it is collaborative. Our Wellbeing Network meetings provide opportunities for schools to engage in shared reflection, explore emerging themes, learn from peers and shape approaches that respond to the needs of their communities. By connecting research, practice and collaboration, we support schools to strengthen wellbeing provision and create environments in which all pupils and staff can flourish.
